Nursing Home Activities
Movie Theater
The residents have really enjoyed watching a variety of movies as they snack on popcorn and soft drinks. We have matinees for their enjoyment several times a month.
Resident Porch and Garden
The homelike porch is equipped with ceiling fans, a television, and a fireplace. In the warmer months the residents enjoy drinking their lemonade or coffee on the covered porch. They also have access to garden vegetables such as cabbage, broccoli, cauliflower, tomatoes and collards that are planted in rectangular handmade planters. We also have planters with various types of flowers for the residents to enjoy!
Clubs for Everyone!
Busy Bakers Club - Our residents gather each month to choose and prepare a dish of their choice in our ADL (Activities of Daily Living) Kitchen. All of the residents enjoy eating their dish afterwards.
Red Hat Ladies - Our ladies enjoy meeting once a month for their Red Hat Ladies organization.
Men's Club - Each month, the men in our facility have their Men's Club meeting. They enjoy refreshments while planning and organizing events for their club members and the facility. This can include having a men's movie day to watch old western and war movies.
Community Events
The residents participate in the community parades that are held at Christmas and Mardi Gras each year. They enjoy riding, throwing goodies and seeing the crowds of people who are watching the parades and will talk about these events until next parade.
Hospital and Nursing Home Week
Every year in May, we celebrate both Hospital Week and National Skilled Nursing Care Week. During this week, we choose a theme and enjoy performing skits and activities for our residents' and staffs entertainment. It is always a fun time of fellowship to "let loose" and appreciate the hard yet rewarding work we put in each day to provide quality care and quality of life to our residents and patients. During this week, we host our annual Talent Show. Our residents enjoy showcasing their talents, and we enjoy watching them perform.
